On the land, the learning is different.

On Country with custodians takes participants out of the training room and onto Country. Participants will have the opportunity to hear stories where they happened, from the people with the knowledge. The importance of lore, kinship, language and caring for Country are not abstract concepts here. They are continuous living systems of Culture, as they have been for more than sixty thousand years.

Participants begin by completing our two-day Cultural Impact program (Impact Pathways) before travelling on Country, ensuring the learning moves beyond understanding into lived experience.

When delivered well, the relationships built through this experience extend far beyond the program itself. These connections become the foundation for meaningful engagement and effective work on Country.

What you will experience.

The program experience takes people through three stages. First, the training room, so participants leave with knowledge, not assumptions. Second, on Country, where Traditional Custodians share their stories of local cultural knowledge and experiences, and where they happened. Finally, participants are given space to reflect, helping turn what they have seen and heard into lasting understanding. By the end, they understand Country through the perspective of those who belong to it. That changes how they lead, listen, and engage with the communities their work affects.

  • Foundation first

Participants complete Impact Pathways, our flagship cultural capability workshop, before going on Country. The learning gives shape to what they will see.

  • The Voice of Country

Elders and Traditional Custodians. They carry the knowledge of Country and lead on-Country sessions. Nobody speaks for Country but those who belong to it.

  • Shaped to Country

Designed around where your organisation operates. Urban, regional or remote. Programs may include day visits, overnight camps, cultural tours with Traditional Custodians, storytelling with elders or community partnerships.

  • Relationships that Stay

Done properly, relationships formed through this experience continue long after the program concludes. They become part of how your people think, work and lead.
